Services
Let me start off by saying congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your baby! The way a woman feels while she is in labor has a lasting effect on her and her baby.
My goal is to support families in a way that they feel prepared, empowered, encouraged, and fully supported. I serve women in person in Lake County, Florida, and the surrounding areas for home births, birth center births, and hospital births!

Childbirth Preparation - $100

The childbirth preparation is about a 4 hour session. I will help prepare you for labor, assist you in writing a birth plan, and teach coping, relaxation, and comfort techniques. I also go over preparing for postpartum and the basics of breastfeeding. I will tailor a session based on your individual goals and needs to help you prepare for your birth. This may be a great option if you are unable to attend a Childbirth Education course, or if you have previously taken a course or have experienced labor before and simply need a refresher. Individual consults are available separately for couples who would like to prepare for childbirth but may not need continuous labor support.
Nesting + Cleaning Services- $50/hr
While I was pregnant and in my early postpartum periods it was super important for my mental health that my house was clean and orderly. I felt trapped and overwhelmed during pregnancy with all the nesting tasks I had in mind while not feeling my best. In my early postpartum period, it was challenging to rest enough so my body could heal while feeling like I needed to keep up with the house and keep it clean for my mental health. I decided I wanted to offer nesting and cleaning services!

My cleaning and organizing services stand out from your typical housekeeper in many ways!
- I use non-toxic cleaning products (mainly vinegar, baking soda, dish soap)
- I can clean your baby gear- whether you're using it again from your last baby or you got it secondhand and it needs a good clean!
- If you want help organizing, we can chat about birth plans, how you're feeling, etc. while going through everything if you'd like!
- During your postpartum period, I'd like to serve you while making sure you have food, water, etc. while I am at your house. I also am a lactation counselor so if you need any help, I am more than willing to help with that as well! Scheduling a cleaning on the first day you will be by yourself can be beneficial as you get a fresh start to your week and you can ease into being by yourself with your baby!

Postpartum Doula Care- $45/hr*

Postpartum care is so important because it is a time for the family to bond with and get to know the newborn. During the postpartum period, a doula offers emotional and physical support. Some of the things a doula can help with include:
-
newborn care support education
-
breastfeeding/bottle support
-
caring for the baby while parents eat, sleep, shower, etc.
-
meal prep
-
sibling care
-
light housework
-
listening ear

*$45/hr for a minimum of 3hrs at a time.
Breastfeeding Support

Troubleshooting Session- $50
On-Call Virtual Support (1yr)- $150
Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn't mean it happens easily! It is a skill that both the mother and baby learn together. I am here to help when there are hiccups along the way! In a troubleshooting session, we will go over what the problem is and troubleshoot it together until it is resolved. Support can be done in person or virtually!
Insurance

I am a part of The Doula Network, which allows me to accept select Medicaid Insurance! The current plans that cover doulas are Aetna, Clear, Florida Community Care, Molina Healthcare, Simply Healthcare, United Healthcare, and Vivida Health. This list is growing! If you're interested in using your insurance to cover doula costs, please fill out The Doula Network intake form. If you would like me as your doula, please put "Serenity Howard" in the preferred/primary doula box.

If your insurance is not listed on the site, but you would like to try to receive reimbursement, I will walk you through the process and provide any needed documentation!
